I Finally Finished My First Draft!
Draft 1 of THE GOOD SHIP VERDEN is finally complete!
At last, The Good Ship Verden’s first draft is done!
This has been a horrifically difficult first draft to do. I’ve been trying to write it since December, but I just couldn’t make it work. I have lost sleep over this book. I have cried! But I knew that it needed to be written.
I’ve been trying to write this book since August 2024, and it holds a lot of emotional trauma for me within its pages. Finally writing the book feels like I am exorcising my demons, so in a way, it makes complete sense that I am so resistant to writing it.
In the end, I decided that I needed to write a bare bones skeleton draft, and then undergo a huge edit and second draft process. Finally, I have got enough of a draft to be able to do this.
I currently have 13,500 words, out of a hopeful 25,000 words, but I think this novella might end up a lot longer! I’m very excited to see where it’s going, though.

Congratulations!
That sounds like an excellent title to jump off from!
